Location and facilities
The 4-star Hotel Goldener Stern was renovated in 2020 and is situated in the centre of Abtenau. A ski bus stops approx. 100 m away and takes you to the about 11 km distant Dachstein West ski area (Rußbach access point). The Sonnleitn lift can be reached after about 400 m and the Karkogel ski area after about 1.3 km. A cross-country trail is located approx. 500 m away and a toboggan run about 700 m away.The modern hotel is furnished with a reception, lift, Wi-Fi, lounge, restaurant, breakfast room and bar. The hotel also offers a ski room as well as free parking spaces (subject to availability) and a charging station for electric vehicles (for a fee).
The spa area (opening times as per description in resort) offers a hut sauna, soft sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, relaxation room and outdoor area with panoramic organic basin, which can be used for free.
Furthermore, you will also receive the "Tennengau PLUS" card, which grants you access to numerous discounts and services such as free or discounted participation in snowshoe hikes, resort tours or cross-country skiing lessons as well as use of the ski bus and public transportation to Salzburg (restrictions and changes of services may apply, as per info in resort).
