In the Kipplitztörl ski area, with about 28 km of pistes, skiers and snowboarders as well as snowshoe hikers will get their money's worth both on and off the pistes.

The community enjoys a reputation as a spa and rehabilitation destination. The medicinal sulphur springs are known far beyond the region and the mountain air and water are also said to have a healing effect. In addition, pleasure and culinary delights of Bad St. Leonhard are not neglected.

Lavant Valley

In the east of Carinthia flows the Lavant river, which gives the extensive Lavant Valley its name. The valley is considered one of the most appealing and sunny areas in the south of Austria and lives up to its nickname "Paradise of Carinthia". The idyllic municipalities of Wolfsberg, Sankt Andrä and Bad Sankt Leonhard form the main municipalities along the valley with about 60,000 local inhabitants. Embedded in between the two local mountains Koralpe and Saualpe the lower Lavant Valley offers various recreational activities. In winter you can look forward to a diverse sports holiday in the ski areas Koralpe, Großer Speikkogel (the highest mountain of the region at 2,140 m), Klippitztörl, Weinebene and Hebalm.
