Ski area Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel - Kaprun
With around 61 kilometres, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area and the Maiskogel family ski area offer mostly blue and red pistes for beginners and leisure skiers. Wide carving pistes and long, sporty descents, such as the 5 km long piste from the Gletscherjet 4 mountain station, make skiers' hearts beat faster. Experts looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush, on the other hand, are in just the right place on the Black Mamba with a gradient of up to 63 per cent. From Kaprun, you can reach the glacier with the Gletscherjet and the Panoramabahn or directly from the town centre with the MK Maiskogelbahn and the 3K K-onnection, one of the most modern and energy-efficient cable cars in the world.
With a large proportion of wide and blue pistes, the Maiskogel ski area is particularly suitable for families and leisure skiers. At the Almbahn mountain station, winter sports enthusiasts will also find the longest run in the ski region at around 7 kilometres.
As a special service, the ski areas around Zell am See and Kaprun offer free Wi-Fi at various hotspots throughout the ski area. You can easily access the Wi-Fi network and surf the internet, download the latest snow reports or post pictures!
In the neighbouring Schmittenhöhe-Zell am See ski area, you have access to around 77 kilometres of pistes and over 28 modern lifts. Experts can try their hand at the 4 km long Trass run, which is considered the most difficult in the entire ski area and one of the steepest runs in the whole of Salzburger Land.
Night skiing Fusch am Großglockner
There is a large selection of night skiing areas in Austria. Near Fusch am Großglockner, there is also a piste in the Zell am See-Kaprun ski area where you can still ski at night. The approximately 1.5 km long "Nightslope" at the Ebenbergbahn in Zell am See is floodlit on Thursdays and Tuesdays for night skiing. On days when the piste is open in the evening for night skiing, the Ebenbergbahn closes earlier. The lift is then open again for night skiing from 17:00 to 20:30. Skiing at night offers a special view of the lights of the houses in the village. If you have a lift pass valid for several days, you can take part in night skiing free of charge. Otherwise, you can buy a lift pass for night skiing on site.Après ski Fusch am Großglockner
Or would you prefer something out in the fresh air? Then one of the numerous hiking trails in the beautiful surroundings of Fusch is the perfect choice. For example, you can walk along the nearby Salzach river or to the Zeller See lake. In neighbouring Bruck there is also a 3 km long toboggan run. And for those who just want to relax after a long day of skiing, a visit to the TAUERN SPA in Kaprun is highly recommended.
Snowpark: Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn Fusch am Großglockner
A wide range of freestyle options are available in the three ski areas. The first address is the Kitzsteinhorn, as four varied areas await adrenaline junkies and freestyle fans in the Kitzsteinhorn Snowpark.
In the "Easy Park", kids and beginners can get their first taste of freestyle and advanced riders can improve their skills. Among other things, there is a rainbow box, a wave box, a down rail and three kickers. In the "Central Park" and "South Central Park", professionals and advanced riders will be in close contact. 9 m barriers, various rails and kickers (5 - 13 m) as well as a knuckle leave nothing to be desired. At the very top, at an altitude of 2,900 metres, there is also the "Glacier Park". In addition to the snow parks, there is also an Eagle Line with obstacles for beginners and experts and, as an absolute highlight, the 150 m long and 6.5 m high superpipe - Austria's largest halfpipe.
