Cross-country Gmunden

Cross-country fans are spoilt for choice in Gmunden. Several cross-country trails are available: Grünau im Almtal (20 km trails), Bad Ischl (30 km) and also Strobel/Postalm (46 km) are only a few kilometres away from Gmunden. Some of the highlights of these areas are e.g. the 13 km "Jagersimmerl trail" near Grpnau, the high altitude trail "Kasbergalm" on 1,500 m altitude and the high altitude trails "Postalm 1 and 3" on between 1,140 and 1,400 meters near Stroberl/Postalm. On these tracks, snow is as good as secured, however, the altitude makes itself felt. In these 3 areas alone, 96 km of tracks are available. 57 km of these are easy and thus perfectly suited for beginners, 28 km are intermediate and 11 km very difficult. And there are even more possibilities a bit further away in the areas Faistenau, with e.g. a floodlit track, and Hintersee.
