Ski area Großglockner-Heiligenblut

With the lift pass "Großglockner" you will find 47 km of snow-sure and mainly free pistes, as well as 10 lift systems between the altitudes of 1,301 and 2,989 m available to use. Here, at the foot of the highest mountain in Austria (3,798 m), with a spectacular backdrop, skiers, boarders and carvers will find mainly intermediate pistes.

For practising the first swings in the snow, the wide slopes at the Sonn- and Fleissalm are ideal to use. The steepest piste from the Schareck peak to Fallbichl is something of a challenge, just as the ski route from Schareck to the Fleissalm. A unique experience is the ride from the Rossbach middle station to the Fleissalm in the tunnel lift, the only lift worldwide which leads through a former water transfer tunnel, and transports approx. 500 persons per hour.

As the majority of the pistes is above the tree line, there are also many off-piste possibilities to try a few swings directly alongside the piste. The free ride arena at the Grossglockner doesn't leave anything to be desired either. Between the Gjaidtroghöhe (2,989 m) and the mountain resort Heiligenblut there are various runs for skiers and snowboarders, which are just waiting to be explored. On an area of over 15 km², free riders can really let loose. Great ski tours can be found at the High Tauern National Park - this is one of the biggest ski tour areas of the Eastern Alps. There is even a National Park ski tours bus.

The quaint huts in the ski area invite you in for a traditional snack, which you can enjoy in front of a magnificent mountain panorama. Families with children and tranquillity seeker will feel well at home here.

Après ski Heiligenblut

The leisure activities in Heiligenblut surely won't leave you bored off the piste. After stopping in one of the cosy huts or bars, such as the "Laterndl", the "Mühle" or - very recommendable - the "Skistadl" with its renowned self-made Schnapps.

But you can even keep up the pace in the evenings and stay sporty! Whether that be curling or snowshoe hiking, in the indoor pool or in the sports centre of Hotel Post - everyone finds the right activity here. Particularly recommended is a visit to the 1.1 km long illuminated natural tobogganing run "Ponwald". Numerous concerts and events round off the entertainment programme in Heiligenblut.
