Ski vacations Kaltenbach - optimal skiing in Zillertal!
Kaltenbach - Ried - Stumm
Kaltenbach, together with the upstream villages of Ried and Stumm, is located in the front part of the valley, in the Fügen-Kaltenbach holiday region in the Zillertal. Kaltenbach is the largest and probably best-known of these villages and, thanks to the bypass road, there is no through traffic here. The manageable village of Ried borders almost seamlessly on Kaltenbach and is rather quiet. Stumm, on the opposite side of the valley, is approx. 1.5 km from the gondola to the Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach ski region and has a very special charm with its beautiful village square. All three villages have a modern tourist infrastructure with indoor swimming pools and many other leisure facilities.World-famous ski huts, such as the Kristallhütte and the Wedelhütte, are located in the centre of the Hochzillertal ski area. Numerous restaurants also tempt you with delicious specialities such as Kasspatzln, homemade apple strudel or Kaiserschmarrn. A special highlight is the annual Ski Food Festival at the start of the season. Here, visitors enjoy delicacies from all over the world at the ski region's incomparable huts - and with free snacks at the lift stations. The end of the season is then celebrated at ALPICON.
Zillertal
Zillertal, sometimes referred to as the "most active valley in the world", is situated in the heart of Tyrol in the Zillertal Alps, directly on the border with South Tyrol. The relatively flat valley is full of possibilities! 542 kilometres of piste, 180 lifts, and snow security at 3,250 m – welcome to Ziller Valley! The "Zillertaler Superskipass" is valid for all km of piste in the Ziller, Gerlos, and Tux valleys and at the Wildkogel.
