The area is nestled within the twin resort, Krispl-Gaißau and its impressive mountain landscape, with a nice view of the Watzmann and the Untersberg. The gentle and sunny alpine pastures are great for extensive hikes, naturally in connection with visits at the various quaint huts that indulge their guests with the typical “Schmankerl” or delicacies, of the Salzburg region. The "Gaissau-Hintersee" ski area offers a small skiing area that is nonetheless rich in variety and right at the doorstep.

Whether skier or snowboarder, there is no time for boredom on the approximately 34 km of slopes with ideal snow conditions. Especially families and beginners are in very good hands and can look forward to a ski resort rated "TOP" in its category. Superbly sunny descents, challenging deep snow slopes as well as a cool snowpark round off the selection which includes practise ski lifts and a children's sking world. And for those seeking an alternative to skiing, there are also toboggan runs, winter hiking trails and an excellent snow-tubing facility available.
