Ski vacations Millstatt – cultural heart at the Millstätter Lake!
Millstatt
Carinthians refer to Lake Millstatt and the muncipality at its sure as "Carinthias Jewel" - and rightfully so. The nearly 1000 year old market town Millstatt has grown historically, and impresses with its distinctly artistic and architectural character, A cultural-historical highlight is the pretty abbey church with its two onion-domed towers and the famous cloister that's joined to a medieval monastery.Just like the cultural aspects, the sportive offer of leisure time activities is large. A total of 4 ice skating rinks in the city area can be used for free. The recreational aspect is underlined by the many opportunities for winter hiking. Starting in the district Kleindombra, for example, is nature discovery trail for the entire family. On a length of 3.7 km, it offers fitness stations and natural experiences. The intermediate route starts with an easy passage, on which families can even take a pram. Those who do not want to roam the mountains all by themselves should contact the professional hikers: The Millstatt section of the Austrian Alpine Club offers guided snow shoe tours and hikes in the region.
