At a glance
Location
This extraordinary snow village is the 1st igloo village in Austria! It is located at an altitude of approx. 2,000 metres in the middle of the Hochoetz-Ochsengarten ski area and can only be reached by cable car. From the mountain station of the Acherkogel lift, it's about a 25-minute walk to the snow village. Ski-in and ski-out are easily possible here.Facilities
The impressive snow village consists of several igloos and is rebuilt from ice and snow every year. There is a communal igloo, a reception and a snow bar. Parking spaces are available for a fee at the Acherkogelbahn valley station ("Schneedorf-Parkplatz", see information on site).To get there, take the Acherkogelbahn lift (for a fee) so that you are at the meeting point at the Panorama Restaurant at the Acherkogelbahn mountain station in Hochoetz (in front of the main entrance by the "Schneedorf" sign) in good time at 16:15. Afterwards you will hike together to the snow village, approx. 25 minutes on foot. Your luggage will be transported by snowmobile (no passenger transport possible).
A short programme is organised by the guides on site, which includes a torch-lit hike and sliding down the slopes.
Board
Half board is included in the holiday price. This includes a welcome drink (cocoa, tea or mulled wine), a bottle of sparkling wine and a small cold appetiser platter in the igloo. Dinner (cheese fondue) takes place in the communal igloo. The next morning, a breakfast buffet is included for you at the Balbachalm.As an alternative to the cheese fondue, you can also pre-order a "Tyrolean snack platter" for an additional charge. Vegan or gluten-free dishes are also available for an extra charge and must be ordered in advance.

Important notes
- Please note that the snow village can only be reached with the Acherkogelbahn lift from Oetz (last ascent approx. 16:00)! and a walk (approx. 25 minutes) from the mountain station to the snow village is required. If you miss the last ascent, there is no way to get to the snow village.
- The gondola costs for the ascent on arrival and for the descent on departure are not included and guests must pay for this on site.
- Remember to wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes!
- Payment by EC card is not possible in the snow village (cash only).

Generally speaking, babies younger than 24 months of age upon arrival can travel for free, but they must be listed on the booking. Please note that fees for the stay may be charged locally (see Local Costs/Services).
