Ski area Ski Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal

The Austrian Kleinwalsertal, together with the resort Oberstdorf (the most southern municipal in German) forms a wonderful ski region with a magnificent 118 km of piste, accessible via 55 lifts via the lift pass "Ski Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal". The perfectly prepared pistes are especially suited for families and beginners, but also more experienced riders can enjoy some challenging runs.

A special attraction is the two-country ski area Fellhorn/Kanzelwand, which is easily reached from Riezlern via the Kanzelwand lift. A total of 36 km of piste stretch from the Austrian Kleinwalsertal right over to the German Skiarena Fellhorn. At the Kesslerlift, next to the valley station of the Kanzelwand lift, freestylers will find the "Crystal Ground Snowpark" with a chill-out sun deck and floodlight arena for night sessions. At all main lift stations of the Fellhorn and Kanzelwand lifts, as well as in all "Das-Höchste" restaurants, you have fee Wi-Fi access. (via hotspots).

At the Nebelhorn, you can take the highest-located gondola of the Allgäu up to 2,224 m altitude. When the weather is good, you can enjoy an impressive view of the 400 surrounding mountain peak between the German Zugspitze and Swiss Säntis. Afterwards, you can make your way along Germany's longest valley run from the tip of the Nebelhorn right down to Oberstdorf. Family-friendly and also ideal for warming up is the ski area at the Söllereck, with mostly easy to intermediate pistes. The Walmendinger Horn on the other hand, offers lovely, diverse descents for all skiing levels.

Night skiing Riezlern

Turning night into day not only when celebrating après ski but also when going night skiing is possible in and around the beautiful resort Riezlern. The ski area Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal, which the local Riezlern ski area is a part of, offers several pistes illuminated by floodlit for your to extend your day on skis. All snowboarders and free skiers can also turn night into day in the brightly illuminated snowpark in Kleinwalsertal. Of course you will also get a chance to take a break nearby the night skiing pistes in the mountain huts and snow bars. The night ski areas at the German-Austrian border will make every skiers heart beat faster.

Après ski Riezlern

Although Riezlern is rather quaint und peaceful, there's still a bit of après ski to enjoy. Just after finishing your last run on the piste, head over to the Cantina Vertical at the valley station of the Kanzelwand lift and sip on a coffee or other pick-me-ups. Snacks and beverages can be enjoyed on the sun terrace of the snow bar at the toboggan lift. You'll also find one of the eight toboggan runs in the Walsertal. In the toboggan lift, you can even hang up the special sleds so that riders can comfortably make their way to the 500 m long run.

To round off the evening and enjoy the perfect meal, you'll find numerous taverns available to choose from. In Steffi’s Tavern, for example, international cuisine is served in a rustic atmosphere, sometimes with live music to boot! If it's entertainment you're looking for, then the Casino Kleinwalsertal is the place to be, with black jack, roulette and other games that test your luck. Another option is the "Cuisino," where you can test your luck instead with your palette as you ponder the diverse menu. In the same building, you'll find the "Tanzbar" disco, where DJs provide you with diverse programmes to keep you going.

Those who prefer to spend more time in nature can choose to go for a hike or ski tour along the Walser mountains, or take a walk along the valley of the Hirschegg or Mittelberg mountains. A well-known and popular field trip destination all year long is the Breitachklamm near Obertsdorf. Through the approx. 2.5 km long gorge, a natural pathway runs along iced over cliffs, ice caves and frozen waterfalls. A truly unique experience for the entire family!

Snowpark: Crystal Ground Snowpark Riezlern

In the ski area of Kleinwalsertal, freestylers will feel absolutely right at home. Particularly young, energetic fans will find quite a selection between the "Crystal Ground" and "Easy Park." The proposed vision of the park is intended to be a freestyler's paradise, so that the newest standards are met while still offering a place for beginners and pros alike to share the same space. Therefore, the park provides the best possibilities for everyone to realise their dreams of springing high into the air.

The "Easy Park" is constructed with an easy Kicker line and easy obstacles like butter boxes - perfect for first timers looking to gain some experience. Thanks to its creative, monthly alternating and jib-themed set-ups, the "Crystal Ground" is a favourite among all levels of winter sports fans. With a diverse series of events, camps and sessions, you'll surely never get bored. When enough snow is available, the park is also available to make use of in the evenings thanks to its flood light system. In the Funslope Fellhorn, at an altitude of 1,750 m, kickers, fun boxes, tunnels, waves and banked runs are all lying at your feet.
