Ski area Ski region Hochoetz - Kühtai
Freshly prepared pistes weave through lovely winter forests and ensure unforgettable holiday memories. With mainly blue and red runs on offer as well as 27 lifts, the Hochoetz-Kühtai ski area presents itself well-manageable and therefore especially family-friendly. Wonderful valley runs open up from the Hochoetz middle station (the longest being 5 km) or from the Brunnerkopf right down to the Ochsengarten, located in a side valley. Due to modern snow-making systems at the Brunnerkopf, snow and fun are guaranteed to be had.
The little winter sports fans can let off steam in the Kinderland in Hochoetz. During the "Happy Family Weeks" (07/12-21/12/2024, 11/01-25/01/2025 and 22/03-05/04/2025), all children born in 2019 or later (must have valid ID, children must also be toilet trained!) whose stay is 7 nights or longer will receive a free 5-day long ski course or 5-days of child care services in the Hochoetz ski kindergarten. The ski area Oetz/Hochoetz was awarded as the best ski area for families ans children in 2014. The portal underlines the area's child friendliness, the many childcare services for children from 2 years in kindergartens and the 3 children's parks, as well as the "Happy Family Weeks".
If this is not enough, you will also find an extended offer of pistes with the "Ötztaler Superskipass": enjoy a seemingly endless 356 km of best-prepared pistes and 90 modern lifts.
Night skiing Sautens
In Austria there are many night skiing area where some lifts can be used outside the daily operating hours for night skiing. Not far from Sautens there are also illuminated slopes: in the Hochoetz-Kühtai ski area, a ski slope for night skiing is illuminated several times a week. In addition to the lifts of the Hochalterbahn, the runway in Kühtai is also available for night skiing. The 2.6 km long illuminated runway offers great conditions for the night skiing. The surrounding huts and restaurants are open for the night skiing events and invite you in for a cosy stop after the fun. With a seasonal lift pass, admission to night skiing is free of charge. Nature lovers will surely enjoy the lovely surroundings and they can venture out to explore them on a walk or a hike. Romantic torch-lit snowshoe hikes in the evening might also be an option.
A highlight for the whole family is a go on the 1.5 km long, illuminated toboggan run. Or maybe try yourself in curling. Daring winter sports fans can also participate in an ice climbing tour. There are a number of organisers locally, who offer these tours.
Or do you rather want to wind down? Then better take a trip to Längenfeld (approx. 20km) in the Aqua Dome, where can fully regenerate in the thermal pools.
Snowpark: Snowpark KPark Kühtai Sautens
With your ski pass you have access to 2 great funparks.
The varied KPark Kühtai consists of four areas: The FreeStyle Area was moved to the Wiesenberg lift, along with the newly designed SlopeStyle, and offers a lot of variety with a variety of obstacles. The SuperPipe is a thriller with a height of more than 6 m, a length of 160 m and a width of 21 m, making it one of only two SuperPipes that exist in Austria, Italy and Germany! The SnowCross Area makes the hearts of all the adrenalin junkies beat faster, offering speedy thrills alongside smaller obstacles. The KidsPark, which is also ideal for beginners, is located directly on the Sonnenlift and offers the best conditions for beginners. This true paradise is freshly shaped every day and thus guarantees lots of fun for experts, beginners and the younger freestylers.
The 500 m long fun park Hochoetz in the Balbachtal offers additional fun and offers kickers, boxes, wave tracks, Bonk Tree as well as various rails, which are suitable for beginners as well as advanced freestylers.
