Cross-country Schwendt
The longest and also the most challenging track is the Kaiserwinkl trail. This round course connects the holiday resorts Kössen, Walchsee and Schwendt on a length of 23 km. It is quieter on the valley trails in e.g. Schwendt and Walchsee, which are between 2 and 3 km long. On a length of 5.5 to 9 km the Hochau trail in Kössen offers an intermediate level for everyone with a little experience in cross-country skiing and fitness.
More marvellous trails in the region are the Griesenau trail (13 km)near to Schwendt, the lake trail around lake Walchsee (8 km) or the 13 km long Miesberg trail.
The annual "Koasalauf" (Tyrolean: Emperor run) takes place on the second weekend in February. Approx. 2,000 cross-country skiers meet up every year for this public cross-country ski event.
The trail netword in the Kaiserwinkl region has been awarded with the cross-country trails seal of quality.
