The Tannheimer Tal with its main town of Tannheim is one of the most beautiful high valleys in Europe and is still considered an insider tip for a wonderful winter holiday. Tannheim (approx. 1,000 inhabitants) lies at an altitude of 1,097 metres, just 7 km from the German-Austrian border. The village is the ideal starting point for a wide range of sports and leisure activities, which the Tannheimer Tal offers in abundance. First of all, the large and very attractive cross-country ski trail network of around 140 km should be mentioned. Other options include ice skating, tobogganing, curling, ballooning, paragliding, hang-gliding, Nordic walking trails, snowshoeing and ice climbing. If you are in the mood for culture, you should not miss the Tannheim parish church, which was built at the beginning of the 18th century in a lavish baroque style. A trip to the famous Allgäu towns of Oberstdorf or Sonthofen is also highly recommended.

Nature Park Region Reutte

Surrounded by the mountain chains of the Mieminger and the Wetterstein mountains, lies the Ehrwalder valley basin, where the Nature Park Region Reutte can be found. Just behind the German border you can find a marvellous mountain scenery that touches on Landeck and Imst in the South and Vorarlberg in the West. Although this region receives many tourists, it has lost none of its original charme. Come and explore the beautiful landscape on one of many cross-country tracks, walk on the many snowy winter hiking trails or go on a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride. Toboggan fun is also available for a bit of an adrenaline rush: several runs between 300 m and 1,1 km in length await guests here.
