Ski area Werfenweng

The lift pass "Werfenweng" gives winter sports enthusiasts access to a total of 29 km of piste and nine lifts. The ski area is situated on an altitude of approx. 1,000 - 1,850 m in a side valley of Salzach and is known to be very family-friendly. Modern, area-wide snow-making systems secure skiing fun until April. For children and beginners, there is a separate practice area with snow park right next to the valley station of the Ikarus 8-seater gondola lift in the Zaglau district.

Numerous wonderful downhill runs of mostly easy to medium difficulty wind their way down Ladenberg (1,716 m) and Bischlinghöhe (1,834 m). Freeriders also get their money's worth here if the snow conditions are right. A highlight is the 6 km long panoramic descent to the valley station of the Rosnerköpfl village lift.

Après ski Werfenweng

Even though Werfenweng is only a small village with a comprehensible and family-friendly ski area, there are plenty après ski opportunities. In the ski area you can take your break in quaint mountain huts, and a popular meeting point before taking the last lift is, for example, the umbrella bar Bischlinghöhe. Later on you can get the party started at Eiky Treff and the Ikarus lifts' valley station and in Stoa Alm at the Dorfbahn valley station. Every now and then, the local inns have great parties so that you can extend your après ski drive until late in the evening.

All in all, Werfenweng is rather quiet in the evening. You can enjoy the wintry mountain nature on cross-country skis, on a sledge, a cosy carriage ride or on a llama track. After a few rounds on the ice rink at Lake Weng you can warm up in cosy Seealmstüberl parlour.

Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy several family-friendly trails on longer or shorter routes surrounding the resort. You can hike through Wengerau's magical winter landscape, get to Tennenblick within 30 minutes or to Gamsblickalm within about an hour. On the way to this Alpine pasture you will pass, among other things, the first solar-heated hiking bench. Werfenweng is also known to be a hotspot for paragliders and hang-gliders. The ideal thermal lifts for unforgettable flying experiences can often be found at Bischling.

Snowpark: IKIS Snowpark Werfenweng

The IKIS Snowpark is located in the IKARUS Arena, right next to the Ikarus valley station. It promises fun in the snow for children of all ages. With eight themed runs, a chill-out area and a 300 metre long toboggan run for the little ones, the park has plenty to offer. Older kids have the opportunity to put their skills to the test on the wave track or in the speed race, for example.
