Ski vacations Desná - Idyllic skiing holiday for the whole family
Desná
The idyllic Czech ski resort of Desná is also known by its German name Dessendorf and has around 3,550 inhabitants. Located in northern Bohemia in the Jizera Mountains on the White and Black Desse rivers, Desná offers peace and relaxation for the whole family - on and off the slopes. In addition to skiing in the Černá Říčka ski resort, which offers 2.5 kilometres of slopes, Desná is also a great place to go for winter walks and enjoy the beautiful nature. Everyone will find the relaxation they are looking for here!
Desná is also not far from larger towns such as Liberec or Gablonz on the Neisse. Both towns can be reached in 20 to 30 minutes by car.
Giant Mountains
The Giant Mountains form the largest part of the Sudetes, which lie between Poland and the Czech Republic. The Sněžka (Snow Top) is the highest peak of the Sudetes and therefore also the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, with an altitude of 1,600 m. Typical for the region are the jagged stone rims and mountain lakes. Near the peak of Mount Medvědín you can find the source of the River Elbe. The winter sports resorts in the Giant Mountain National Park offer everything necessary for a successful skiing holiday. Here you will find well prepared pistes, modern lift systems, endless cross-country ski tracks on beautiful high plateaus and a variety of leisure time and aprés ski facilities, which don't have to hide their faces from their Austrian counterparts!Travel Desná
