Ski vacations Isola 2000 - enjoyable skiing with sea view!
Isola 2000
Only in 1973 did the ski station Isola 2000 appear on the French maps, located only approx. 100 km from the French Riviera coast. At 2,000 m altitude and not far from the Italian border, this small resort offers many practical elements. Many pistes end directly at the accommodations and the apartment houses are all connected via a long shopping arcade. Finding amenities in close proximity is therefore no problem at all. Due to the relatively close location to the coast, you are sure to enjoy a good number of sunny days during your holiday. The snow conditions however remain perfect due to the altitude of the resort. The ski area in the national park Mercantour offers 120 km of piste and is very popular with young people from the coastal towns on the Côte d'Azur. They often come here for a day or for the weekend. If you are lucky and you get a good day, you can even spy the Mediterranean Sea from the peak of the Cime de Sistron (2,603 m).National Park Mercantour
The approx. 2,000 m² large area of the national park Mercantour stretches along a good part of the French-Italian borderline. Peaks with up to 3,000 m altitude, including the Mont Clapier (3,045 m) which is the most southern of the 3,000 m mountains, mountain lakes, waterfalls, different ground structures and a very diverse flora, comprising approx. 2,000 different species to be found nowhere else in France: all this is part of this magnificent natural habitat. Just as interesting is the contrast between the northern and southern part of the park, of which the latter already falls under Mediterranean influence, due to its close proximity to the sea. The national park is named for the mountain massif is protects. By the way, the second-highest street in the whole of Europe is located on the park grounds: it starts at the mountain pass Col de la Bonette and leads around the Cime de la Bonnette at 2,802 m altitude.Travel Isola 2000
