Ski area Les Sybelles

"Les Sybelles" (1,100 – 2,620 m) as one of France's greatest ski regions has more than 310 kilometres of piste with mostly easy and medium difficulty and 68 lifts in a total of six interconnected ski areas. Le Corbier, Saint Sorlin d'Arves, St. Jean d'Arves, La Toussuire, Les Bottières as well as St. Colomban des Villards are the names of the areas at the foot of l'Ouillon (2,431 m), which offer a great variety.

The huge ski slope offers ideal conditions for ski beginners and families with children as plenty of blue pistes give a varied access to skiing pleasure for less experienced skiers. The slope above La Toussuire is characterised by red intermediate slopes in the upper part, while the terrain just before the ski station is peppered with easy, sky-blue runs. In addition, more experienced skiers will have fun on the almost 22 km of black runs.

Besides mayn family-friendly slopes Les Sybelles also offers very good deep powder snow conditions, among others at l'Ouillon, Bellard and Grand Truc. Who liked it rapid on the prepared pistes will have fun on the black piste Casse Pipe. Freestylers let off steam in the snow park and night skiiers on two flood light pistes.

Before the start of the 2022/23 winter season, the ski area recently invested a lot of money in its first 10-seater gondola lift, the Côte du Bois. The lift replaces the Côte du Bois 4-seater chair lift of the same name and connects the valley area of La Toussuire with the middle area, where the connection is made via further lifts to Ouillon and Le Corbier.

There, night skiing under floodlights is offered every Tuesday, from 17:15 during the Christmas holidays and from 17:45 from mid February to mid March, on an easy 300 m piste at the lift Petite Verdette. The same applies to the piste Lièvre in St Jean d'Arves. There, the run is floodlit over a length of 500 m, always on Thursdays during the French school holidays, from 18:00 to 20:00.

Après ski La Toussuire

When the last lift has closed, the lights do not go out in La Toussuire. Winter holidaymakers can unstrap their skis right outside the front door and plunge straight into the après-ski fun. And that does not just mean the numerous bars, restaurants and clubs in the ski resort. In the heated shopping streets on the ground floor of the central apartment buildings, small shops and businesses also appeal to shopping fans.

Holiday guests who, on the other hand, want to spend their free time a little more actively can also do that off the slopes in La Toussuire. From snowshoe tours to paragliding or a speedy ride on the toboggan run La Savonette, everything is possible. For winter hikers, the Ballade des Crêtes route is highly recommended. It starts at the summit of the Bellard at 2,225 m and leads over 20 kilometres to the summit of l'Ouillon at 2,431 m. In addition, the trail Les 3 croix with a length of 5 km invites you to Nordic walking.
