Ski area Val Thorens-Orelle
The diverse runs offer something for every skier. From practice pistes to steep pistes and powder snow runs, everything that the skier's heart desires can be found here. A few runs are in close proximity to the piste and others need to be climbed up to. Snowboarders can grab the first opportunity to prove their skills on a boarder-cross route that leads to Val Thorens over the peak "Cime de Caron".
But those who think this is still not enough have the opportunity to upgrade their lift pass to the "3 Vallées" and enjoy incredible 600 km of pistes and 166 lifts. The runs of the picturesque valleys that are glaciated by the Vanoise-Massiv with the "Grand Casse" (3,852) and leads to the highest peak "Moûtiers", stretches out to a beautiful scenery with a view on the Mont Blanc, a powder snow paradise with a total of 250 m². And before you start: Enjoy the breathtaking view of more than 1,000 peaks of the Italian, Swiss and French Alps, because they are located in the highest ski area in Europe.
Night skiing Orelle
Skiing at night on illuminated pistes is a special experience that is very popular in France. The largest ski area in the world, the 3 Vallées, also offers the opportunity to go night skiing. In the ski area in Courchevel it is possible to go skiing in floodlight every Wednesday evening. The 8-person gondola "Verdons" extends their operation hours for you to use the "Verdons" piste as well as the illuminated family park, guaranteeing night-time skiing fun. The restaurant "Les Verdons" serves food and drink even after the lifts extended opening hours. The special highlight, however, is the family park, where night-time skiing is accompanied by music for the whole evening.Après ski Orelle
Those who like it a little bit more active can take a trip to the 17 km away Valmeinier. Here you have the choice between different bars, restaurants, cinemas and clubs. Furthermore, there are open air ice skating rinks, various winter hiking routes around the villages, a bowling lane, guided snow shoe hikes, a toboggan run, paragliding and ice climbing. And for those who do not get enough from skiing, twice a week night skiing is organised (depending on season).
Snowpark: Val Thorens Snowpark Orelle
With your lift pass you have access to a top class snow park, in Europe's highest ski resort. Between 2,500 - 2,600 m altitude lays the 600 m long and 70,000 m² large "Val Thorens Snow Park" in the "Plateaux" sector, in close proximity to the "Grand Fond" gondola. Here there are various elements, including rails, tables and boxes of different levels of difficulty. Therefore both beginners and freestyle pros can enjoy the park to the fullest. Freestylers also can take part in the numerous competitions that take place throughout the the whole winter season and have the chance to show off their skills.
If all this is still not enough, then there is also the chance to practise tricks on more unusual elements, such as the "Hips-Quarter" or the "Jump Air". Directly alongside the park is a tow lift which takes you back up to the top again. After an exhausting freestyle day, or maybe just for a break in between, you go and wind down in the chill zone, with fitting music. In addition, Val Thorens offers a fun slope with over 50 fun elements on a 900 m long slope. Elements such as a snow tunnel, bridges, banked curves and much more are ready and waiting.
If one park is not enough, then there are two further fantastic parks in Méribel: the "Elements Park", created by Ho5Park, and a special highlight, the "DC Area 43 Snow Park".
