Ski area Serre Chevalier

With the lift pass "Serre Chevalier" you have access to 250 km of piste (1,200 - 2,800 m) and 62 lifts. From all four ski resorts - Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve - La-Salle-les-Alpes and Monêtier-les-Bains - you can enjoy easy access into the ski area via chair lifts and gondolas. The many steep slopes around the mountain peaks especially attract the pros - and actually helped to push one of them to success: the most famous ski racer who originated from this region is Luc Alphand. The black piste on the Casse du Boeuf which leads down to Villeneuve, or the "Olympique" to Chantemerle are only two of the numerous challenges that await you here. Further 9 blacks and some marked freeride pistes add to the selection.

The pistes just above Villeneuve however are more to a beginner's taste. The resort offers three beginner areas, one of them located directly at the valley station of the Aravet gondola. Even from the peak of the Serre Chevalier you can find a blue run that takes you right back into the valley. Freestylers will find the area around Villeneuve a real paradise: in the 4 snow parks of Serre Chevalier they burn off steam all they like.

Night skiing Serre Chevalier

In the Serre Chevalier ski area, skiers can go night skiing at two stations: starting in Briançon, you can take the gondola and then ski down the illuminated red piste "Vauban". The piste runs along the lower section of the Prorel gondola. If you want to take a short break from night skiing, make sure to enjoy food or drinks in the restaurant Pra Long at the gondola's station that is open for night skiers. Here in Briançon, night skiing is possible every day until 22:30 during the school holidays. The same is valid for the tow lift at Villeneuve station. Here you can find a green, floodlit piste with a length of approx. 0,6 km, which is mainly suitable for families with children.

Après ski Serre Chevalier

La-Salle-les-Alpes is known as the small apres ski Mecca of Serre Chevalier. The largest bar of the resort, "La Grotte", with it's large sun terrace, is located at the foot of the piste and therefore ideal to swing by for refreshments. In the evening the Place de l'Avaret is the centre of all happening. Everybody meets up here in the many bars and restaurants. However, the "Yeti", "Kitzbühel" or the "eXreme Bar" in La-Salle-les-Alpes and in Chantemerle offer party atmosphere already from the early afternoon hours.

If you prefer quieter restaurants with a more cosy atmosphere and regional specialities you should rather look towards the district Le Bez in La Salle. But also the other resorts in the valley offer numerous possibilities to try the regional cuisine. Or try your luck: in the casino in Briançon.

But also the less party-hungry visitors will find what they are looking for in Serre Chevalier: e.g. an extensive leisure programme from shopping, via spa facilities, right up to sporty activities. Skijoring, kite skiing, snowshoe hikes, driving on ice, tours with snow scooters - try out something new! And of course there are also toboggan runs (some illuminated) and ice rinks. Should the weather not be suitable for outdoor activities you can also play indoor tennis, squash or laser games, or enjoy a round of bowling.

If you are looking for some relaxation instead, you can visit the local indoor pool or venture to Monêtier les Bains. There you will find the XXL thermal baths "Grands Bains". Relaxation on 4,500 m² of spa oasis after a long day on the piste!

Snowpark: Snowpark Serre Chevalier

The ski area "Serre Chevalier" is a true paradise for freestylers, as it offers a total of 4 snow parks. One of them is located at an altitude of 2,000 m and it comprises 4 different areas and a Cool Zone to relax. For beginners there are 2 lines with tables, boxes, and rails available. Further, there is an area for more experienced riders and pros, with various lines to burn off steam.

Additionally, a boardercross with banked turns, the FunnyCross Zone in a natural valley basin, and the Mélè Zone - a funpark whose modules are made out of local larch wood, can be used.
