Ski area Grand Domaine

With the "Le Grand Domaine" lift pass, you have access to 153 kilometres of piste for various categories, covering a difference in altitude of 1,153 m. The ski area lies below the Col de la Madeleine, between the Massif du Cheval Noir and the Massif de la Lauzière. An attractive ski area has developed due to the connection between the ski areas of Valmorel and St. François-Longchamp, which is perfectly developed with 47 lifts. The extensive ski area (1,250 - 2,403 m) invites you to do day tours; the cosy ski huts, to take a break.

The 165 km of piste are primarily easy to intermediate, but there are also many demanding runs, moguls and countless deep snow variations. The most difficult run in the ski area is the 3 km long "Le Mottet" with an altitude drop of 600 m. In Valmorel you will find the fun park "Snow Zone" with tables, slides, jumps, and boarder cross. The large beginners' terrain, "Cheval Blanc" is known to be representative for its kind. Valmorel is snow-sure right through to mid-April, due to its location and numerous snow-making systems.

Après ski Valmorel

Whether for lunch or on the way down into the valley, a stop in one of the cosy lodges above Valmorel is always worthwhile. In the village you will find several cafés with sun terraces ready for you to soak up the afternoon sun.

In the evening you can paint the town red in one of the many pubs or the disco. Before you go out partying, we recommend a meal in one of the numerous small restaurants, in which you can taste mouth-watering Savoyard and international specialities.

The resort itself offers colourful shows, sports and game programmes throughout the season. Further activities you can enjoy are tobogganing, ice climbing, hiking (approx. 60 km of trail), rides on a snow scooter or horse-drawn sleigh rides.

Snowpark: Snowpark des Pirates Valmorel

The ‘Grand Domaine’ ski area is home to the pirate village, which is specially designed for children and offers a variety of attractions. Here, young visitors have the opportunity to use slides, tackle a ‘spider’ course, explore secret passages or play on a ‘snowball’ wall. The ski area also has the ‘Snowpark des Pirates’. This is suitable for both beginners and advanced winter sports enthusiasts, who can practise their tricks on boxes, rails, kickers, a wall and a bonk. For speed junkies, there is also the ‘Boardercross des Pirates’ boardercross course.

Those looking for additional freestyle experiences will find another snow park in St. François-Longchamp, right next to the Le Rocher Blanc ski lift. There is also a boardercross course below the La Lune Bleue chairlift.
