Ski area Skilifte Hochschwarzwald

There are several small ski areas along the 60 km long Black Forest High Road between Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt. There are two lifts in the town centre of Freudenstadt that provide skiing fun. The Freudenstadt-Kniebis ski area is located around 11 km west of the town centre on the high plateau, which is also crossed by the Hochstraße. Freudenstadt and a total of 7 other varied ski lifts, which are spread across the Bühl, Seebach, Baiersbronn and Gernsbach areas and have a total of around 9.5 kilometres of pistes, are included in the "Black Forest Plus Card".

The Stokinger ski lift is located directly on the southern outskirts of Freudenstadt, an anchor lift that transports skiers to a manageable area at an altitude of 800 metres. From there, there are pistes ranging from blue to black. Despite the very small ski area with around 1 km of slopes, beginners to advanced skiers will get their money's worth.

The largest ski area in the Black Forest, on the other hand, can be found on the Feldberg, where a lift network opens up around 63 km of slopes. However, this ski area is not included in the Black Forest Plus Card.

Night skiing Freudenstadt

Winter holidaymakers in Freudenstadt have the option of popular night skiing nearby. For skiing at night, night owls are drawn to the small, fine Vogelskopf night skiing area. It is located approx. 24 km from Freudendstadt, a little off the Black Forest High Road and offers an attractive area with a slightly steeper gradient, even for advanced skiers. The piste and drag lift are open daily from 09:00 to 22:00. At dusk, the floodlights are switched on so that the approximately 1 km long piste is fully illuminated. The beginners' slope is around 600 metres long and leads directly to the valley station. The forest run, which is also known as the "motorway", is slightly longer at 850 m and of medium difficulty.

Après ski Freudenstadt

Walking the spacious hiking trails, tobogganing on a 400 metre long run, ice skating or snowshoe hiking - the offers are diverse here in Freudenstadt. The local ice hall close to Baiersborn provides facilities for ice skating, curling, ice shows or an ice disco. When the weather is not suitable for skiing, you can go shopping on Germany's largest market in the covered arcades, or enjoy a relaxing afternoon with the family in the panorama pool complex. In the "Pano", as it is known by the locals, there is a swimming pool with activity area, as well as a sauna complex available.

In the evenings, you can enjoy some great, hearty, local cuisine. In the city centre the brewery Turmbräu is worth a visit. It is located directly at the market square and provides for a cosy, traditional atmosphere inside, while outside you can enjoy the pretty Biergarten, called Turm-Alm. Party evenings take place here regularly. Local specialities, such as the Black Forest deer sausages, "Maultaschen" filled with locally hunted game, or a Buhlbacher trout fillet are served everywhere, even on the Kniebis hut in the ski area.

Snowpark: Snowpark Freudenstadt

There is no snow park in the small ski resorts in the northern Black Forest, such as Kniebis. However, Feldberg has new funslopes for young and old. With rapid banked turns, sweeping wave runs and several smaller jumps, the various fun slopes provide plenty of fun.
