Location and facilities
The comfortable Zugspitze campsite is located about 2.5 km from the centre of Grainau. The centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is about 2 km away and the ski area about 3 km. The ski bus stops only about 50 m from the campsite. Shopping facilities are already available in the immediate vicinity.The high-quality holiday complex has a reception, restaurant "Schmölzer Wirt" with good Bavarian cuisine, Wi-Fi (availability depends on location), bistro, modern alpine spa with sauna, vinotheque, indoor golf course, sun terrace and ski room. There are free parking spaces (subject to availability) and a charging station for electric cars (for a fee).
After paying the tourist tax, you will receive the Grainau Card on site. This allows you to use the Eibsee buses and the Zugspitze railway free of charge from Grainau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, from Grainau to the Eibsee and in the Grainau area during your stay. In addition, you enjoy one free admission per week or part thereof to the Zugspitzbad Grainau and free use of e.g. cross-country ski trails, sports programme and water gymnastics (subject to change, see information on site).
Furnishing and board
The cosy sleeping barrels offer an incomparable experience in any weather. They have a 2 x 2 metre bed, an extendable table with benches and enough storage space for your luggage under the bed and in the benches. Electricity and heating are included. Important notes
- No lift pass voucher is issued for children up to and including 5 years of age, they receive a free lift pass when accompanied by their parents. However, as part of a ski course, they need their own valid lift pass (payable on site, further information available at the lift ticket office).
