Cross-country Harz

In Harz, lovers of Nordic winter sports can look forward to a cross-country ski El Dorado with more than 500 km of trails. Combine healthy edurance training with a relaxing indulgence of the scenery on perfectly prepared tracks. From circular courses to connecting trails to targeted trails at different levels of difficulty, there is something for everyone.

Surrounding the resorts Schierke and Thale there are approx. 50 km of trails at both easy and difficult levels. Cross-country skiers can look foward to various tracks in an impressive winter scenery surrounding the Brocken on altitudes from 600 - 1,000 m. As most of the trails run through Harz National Park and thus through a conservation area, cross-country skiers should respect the local plant and animal life and always use the prepared cross-country trails and hiking paths.
