Location and facilities
The comfortable Hotel Hochkalter is located idyllically approx. 500 m from the resort centre of Ramsau and offers the ideal starting point for a wonderful winter holiday in the Berchtesgadener Land. The centre of Berchtesgaden itself is approx. 9 km away. The local bus (some payable locally, also goes to the resort Berchtesgaden) stops directly in front of the accommodation.The complementary ski bus stops directly in front of the building and takes you to the approx. 3 km distant ski area Hochschwarzeck. The family-run accommodation offers a main and a side building which are connected which each other. The hotel has a reception, lift, restaurant, bar, in-house library, Wi-Fi in the "Gletscherstübli" parlour (incl.), ski room and a terrace. Parking spaces are free at the building, there is also a locally payable carport available for guests.The spacious spa area includes a swimming pool with waterfall showers and massage jets, Finnish sauna, herbal aroma sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, Kneipp baths with waterfall, saline grotto, relaxation room with water beds, conservatory with fireplace and relaxation beds, as well as a fitness room - all of which is free to use. The solarium, as well as massages and beauty treatments can be requested if paid for locally. Per full-payer and stay you will receive a wellness voucher valued at €25 (can be redeemed for wellness treatments from a value of €40). Further there is a spa buffet including vitality snacks, tea, water and other non-alcoholic beverages to take freely.
In connection to the Berchtesgaden-Königssee guest card/tourist pass you can take part in several hikes during your stay. The hikes are expected to start from mid-December (depending on weather conditions). There are, e.g., a winter hike in the national park or on the hiking trail "Soleleitungsweg", as well as a torchlight hike at lake Hintersee (more information as per notice in resort).
Rooms
The cosily furnished rooms and suites all offer a bath/wc, hair drier, telephone, Wi-Fi (payable locally, via hotspot), satellite TV, radio and some with balcony or loggia. The rooms are located in the main building, the junior suits are to be found in the annex.Board
Already included in the holiday price is half-board PLUS. This comprises an extended breakfast in buffet form, home-made cake on a buffet in the afternoons and a 4-course evening menu with salad bar. Dietary and lactose-free meals can be prepared on request. The Christmas menu and the New Year's Eve gala dinner with festive programme are also included.Pets

Important notes
- Children may access the spa area only when accompanied by an adult.
- As the local bus runs a longer route via Berchtesgaden to the ski area Hochschwarzeck, we recommend you use a private car for the journey.
- Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant or spa area.
- In case you have booked equipment hire and lessons through us, the ski hire shop and ski school are located in Berchtesgaden (approx. 10 km).
