Ski vacations Schliersee - Home of skiing legend Markus Wasmeier!
Schliersee
Schliersee is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Bavarian Alps - and not just thanks to the village's most famous man, two-time Olympic champion Markus Wasmeier. He is intensively committed to preserving the cultural heritage of his home village. After all, the quaint village with its old farmhouses and magnificent flower balconies has truly retained the charm of an Alpine village. The small town is rich in cultural monuments, churches and chapels. The municipality with around 6,700 inhabitants is characterised by its picturesque appearance directly on the lake and its high recreational factor.Located just 50 minutes south-east of Munich and directly on the north-eastern shore of the lake of the same name, Schliersee has the perfect location for a varied winter holiday in the Tegernsee-Schliersee Alpine region. With a bit of luck, the layer of ice on Lake Schliersee in December will be thick enough to walk or skate on in the winter sun. Winter sports enthusiasts will also find numerous well-prepared cross-country skiing, ski touring and hiking trails. Access to the nearest ski area in the "Alpen Plus" ski region is just a few kilometres away.
Spitzingsee-Tegernsee
The alpine region Spitzingsee-Tegernsee is located in Upper Bavaria approx. 1 km away form the federal state capital Munich. The viewpoint tower of the Taubenberg mountain offers a view of the pristine nature and the extensive ski area Spitzingsee-Tegernsee. Cross-country skiers will get their money's worth on the approx. 100 km of tracks, some of which are even illuminated at night. The snowy landscape can also be explored with horse sled rides or hikes on approx. 300 km of winter hiking trails. Spitzingsee-Tegernsee - Ski paradise at the foot of the Alps!Travel Schliersee
