Jasná (Lower Tatras)
Jasná offers perfect winter sports conditions, which is proven by the resort having been the host for the Junior World Championship as well as for numerous further worldwide and European FIS challenges. Especially for children the area has to offer quite a few things: In MAXIland the small ones can experience their first steps in the snow on a 4,000 m²large area. With regards to the cultural aspect, the Janko-Kráľ museum in Liptovský Mikuláš, which reminds of the famous poet and romantic writer, is surely worth a visit. The most well-known valley in the Lower Tatras is Demänovská Valley; the most important sights in this valley are the Demänovská Caves. The ice cave is one of the earliest mentioned (1299) in the world. A wonderful ice world opens up to the spectators here. Especially facinating are the ice stalactites and the waterfalls inside the cave. The region's ski areas offer skiers excellent conditions for alpine and cross-country skiing.
