Baqueira-Beret, with 103.9 kilometres of piste, has also been noticeably expanded in the past few years. The ski area stretches over altitudes from 1,500 m - 2,510 m and attracts skiers with its altitude difference of 1,000 m; it is one of the most popular areas in the country. Due to its Atlantic position, the ski area is very snow sure. It also attracts many deep snow fans, who can enjoy fantastic off-piste runs due to the size of Baqueira.
In the Sierra Nevada, skiers can curve down Europe's southern-most ski area. With 86.9 kilometres of piste, this ski area was host to the 1996 ski world championships.
