Ski area Aletsch Arena
From Riederalp you have several possibilities for entering the ski area. With the chair lift "Hohfluh" or the gondola "Moosfluh", you can reach various lifts and pistes from the stations, which allow you to reach further parts of the ski area and also the mountain station Bettmerhorn. Altogether, the Aletsch Arena offers almost as many easy slopes as it does medium-difficulty slopes, meaning children and beginners don't miss out either. On the Bettmeralp, ski school children meet in the Snowgarden and Kindersonnenland, as well as in the Prinzenland at the Bettmersee. At Kühboden an der Fiescheralp and at Riederalp there are more children's parks for playing and learning. The ski area bears the "Families Welcome" seal of approval, which honours the toddler care and entertainment programme.
Night skiing Riederalp
In Switzerland, numerous ski resorts offer the possibility of night skiing after the lifts actually close. This includes the Aletsch Arena near Riederalp. Night skiers on Bettmeralp probably have the greatest fun. The Blausee chair lift has extended service hours to the mid-station every Tuesday from 16:30 to 21:00. In Alpenrose-Riederalp, two lifts allow for the use of the approximately 500 m long illuminated runway every Tuesday from 19:00 to 21:00. The practice lift in Fieschertal has illuminated slopes every Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00.Après ski Riederalp
Tobogganing is also great fun in the Aletsch region. A real highlight awaits you at the Fiescheralp. A 14 km long toboggan run leads down a well-prepared path to Lax, the neighbouring village to Fiesch. A sports bus takes the tobogganists back to Fiesch in a few minutes. Another tobogganing speciality can be found at the Moosfluh gondola lift. After the lifts close, you can go down the blue runway with an airboard. The "Schlittelpiste Blätz" run in the Fieschertal is ideal for younger tobogganers. If the weather is not so good, the Sport-Ferienresort Fiesch offers a variety of sports activities, such as swimming, indoor climbing, tennis, squash, bowling, fitness or sauna.
Snowpark: TFI Snowpark, Funpark Eggishorn, Funpark Konkordia Riederalp
On the slopes of the Bettmerhorn between the red Kanzel piste and the blue Salzgäb piste, a rail line and multiple kicker lines are waiting for freestylers. For really big jumps, a wide half-pipe can be found further down the mountain side. The obstacles are shaped with the special device call the "PipeMagician", so that 360 degree rotations and strong inclines can done successfully. In the Family-Park, beginners can practice their first tricks on smaller obstacles, banks and mini jumps.
Besides the TFI Snowpark there is also the Funpark Eggishorn and the Funpark Konkordia at the Fiesch-Eggishorn. The two freestyle areas are on both sides of the Konkordia piste and are able to be reached with the 4-person chair lift Flesch or with the 6-person chair lift Talegga. The Konkordia-Area is set up with smaller moguls and curvy runs for freestyle-learners and offers newcomers a perfect way to play. The Funpark Eggishorn, on the contrary, has proper rails and jumps on offer.
