Ski area Vail

The 2,141 hectare Vail ski area (2,457 - 3,433 m), with its 234 mainly difficult slopes and 31 lifts, has been named the USA's best and largest ski area several times. Good service is the name of the game here, the slopes are generously designed and waiting times are hardly worth mentioning. The Front Side offers 127 prepared downhill runs, and the somewhat remote Blue Sky Basin offers natural, sunny slopes. In the seven valley bowls of the Back Bowl, deep powder fans will definitely get their money's worth! Boarders will find several parks with many elements, as well as super and half-pipes.

Snowpark: Golden Peak Terrain Park Vail

Vail offers three Terrain Parks with two half pipes. The biggest one among those is the "Golden Peak" Park which is accessible with the Riva Express. Here over 30 jibbs, boxes and rails as well as nine kickers with different heights can be found. A 4 m high half pipe gives you opportunity to warm up with the parks highlight, a super pipe of 6.7 m height awaits with more fun. The US Open Snowboard Championships are regularly held here.

The two park are located on the Western side of the mountain, just below the Eagle's nest. Although the "Bwana Park" is better suited for intermediates, it also features a beginner's line. Around 25 obstacles and a shred bench can be found here. In "Pride Park" some more moderate jumps and obstacles invite all difficulty levels to practise their skills. It can also be reached with the Pride Express so that you can go down almost 2 km of park-line in both parks.
